LA Times:The 25-year-old son of Denver Nuggets Coach George Karl played in 17 games for the Lakers last season.
The Lakers today trimmed their roster to 14 players after cutting fan favorite Coby Karl, who beat long odds to make the team last year, but couldn't do it against this season.
Karl, 25, is the son of Denver Nuggets Coach George Karl, but the Lakers chose to keep Chinese rookie Sun Yue as a shooting guard at the end of the bench.
Coby Karl played in only 17 games for the Lakers last season, averaging 4.2 minutes and 1.8 points. Karl, who played for Boise State University, spent some time last season playing for the Los Angeles Defenders in the NBA Development League.
Karl's highlight last season was probably his brief appearance in a first-round playoff game against his father's Denver team.
